Welcome
“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…”
(2 Timothy 4:2-3)
It’s dark outside. I look through my office window into the courtyard outside. The absence of light makes it difficult to distinguish objects there. They are, of course, still where they were this morning. The darkness has not removed the trees and benches. I just cannot discern enough detail to accurately identify each one.
We’ve all experienced times when we found ourselves in the dark, wary of what we might bump into and fearing that terrible slamming of a toe into an immovable object. How great it is to be able to turn on the light so that we can see clearly.
It’s dark outside, a moral and spiritual darkness is descending on our world. Relativism is the order of the day. Everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes. Many deny the abundant evidence that we are wonderfully designed and made by a Creator and hold instead to a belief that we spontaneously sprang into existence by random chance. They exchange the truth for the lie (Romans 1:25). It even seems that much of the Christian Church world has entered into a time when they gather to themselves teachers who only tell them what they want to hear and are thus turning away from the truth unto fables (2 Timothy 4:3,4).
There is an absence, or diminished presence of light, true light, the light of God’s Word. I am not the only one to notice. Nor are we the only ones to try to address the problem. There are others, though seemingly small in numbers, who are actively working to preach, teach and promote the Bible as the Word of God. The Monday Night Study organization, and this web site, was established to join in with those who present the Bible as the inerrant (in its original autographs) message of God to us. To present it faithfully and completely as the ground of truth about who God is, what He has done, and what He will do. We join with those who acknowledge that the “volume of the Book” is written about the work and person of Jesus Christ. That He and His Word are the truth.
In the articles and audio teachings of this site, it is our hope and desire to declare the “whole counsel of God” to any who wish to hear it. Our mission is to convince the doubters, correct error and false doctrine, to encourage believers in their faith and to provide to everyone an answer for the hope that we have in Christ. And, by so doing, we help to turn on the light.
